A number of projects have been addressing the palliative care needs of patients in the UK, US and Africa. These collaborations have been appraising and modelling the evidence for effectiveness, measuring symptom prevalence and burden particularly in relation to antiretroviral therapy, and looking at the impact on adherence, quality of life, risk and psychosocial functioning.
