Cicely Saunders International Faculty Scholars

Cicely Saunders International Faculty Scholars will be the future clinical leaders and investigators in end-of-life and palliative care. Each will study at the Cicely Saunders Institute in London for three to four years before moving out to take senior positions around the world.
One Scholar is focussed on improving palliative care for older people, and will be involved in developing ways to test improved methods of care and to treat the problems faced by older people, such as neglected symptoms, psychological and spiritual support.
Another Scholar will concentrate on discovering ways of improving the manner by which people reaching the end of life can access palliative care services – including how palliative care is presented to patients and families, and the different ways of offering care in hospital, the community and hospices.
