Complexity of Needs, Clinical Tools and Outcome Measures

Clinical Tools:

The full UKROC dataset represents the inpatient rehabilitation subset of the Long Term Neurological Conditions dataset. It comprises demographic information and processes data for each admitted case episode together with:

  • The Rehabilitation Complexity Scale (as a measure of rehabilitation needs)
  • At least one of an agreed set of outcome measures which include:
    • Full dataset - The UK FIM+/-FAM
    • Minimum dataset - Barthel Index

In addition to the above tools which measure "need" and "outcome" there are two further tools that measure the "input" provided - Nursing and Therapy dependency scales.

For information on the various tools please click one of the following:

Rehabilitation Complexity Scale (RCS-E)

Northwick Park Nursing Dependency / Care Needs Assessment (NPDS/NPCNA)

Northwick Park Therapy Dependency Assessment

Functional Assessment Measure (FIM+/-FAM)

Neurological Impairment Set (NIS)

Barthel Index (BI)

Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS)

Needs and Provision Complexity Scale (NPCS)

Depression Intensity Scale Circles (DISC)

The Scale of Pain Intensity (SPIN) and Numbered Graphic Rating Scale (NGRS)
